During the 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans, the South Korean brand Genesis presented one of the most unusual concepts at the event: the Box Buggy, a small electric vehicle with a futuristic appearance.
Developed under the leadership of Genesis chief creative officer Luc Donckerwolke, the model stands out for its unconventional design, with a trapezoidal body, minimalist cabin and seats upholstered in checkered fabric.
Despite its golf cart-like appearance, the concept incorporates advanced technologies developed by Hyundai Mobis, the Hyundai Motor Group subsidiary focused on future electric mobility solutions.

The Box Buggy uses four independent modules called e-Corner, which integrate an electric motor, suspension, brakes and electronic steering into each wheel. Thanks to this system, the wheels can rotate up to 90 degrees, allowing the vehicle to move sideways to park in tight spaces or perform maneuvers impossible in conventional cars.

Each of the four motors produces about 40 horsepower, resulting in approximately 160 hp combined. According to Donckerwolke, the power is enough to perform burnouts with all four wheels simultaneously, something unusual for a vehicle of this size.
Genesis has not disclosed details about the battery, range or possible series production. For now, the Box Buggy is expected to remain an experimental and support vehicle for the brand’s racing team during the 2026 World Endurance Championship (WEC) season.
Even so, company executives indicated that strong public interest could influence future plans for the concept.
